Trans Mountain operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast.

We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

This position is based in our Burnaby office and reporting to the Director, Pipeline Operations.

Duration:
May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023


Key Responsibilities:


  • Handle all duties of the Administrative Assistant including but not limited to expense reports, travel arrangements, weekly reports, Director support, and vacation relief;
  • Assist Budget Analyst with input of budget and forecast numbers during tight deadlines for budget/forecast preparation, as well as actively assisting in monitoring and tracking real time expenses for Pipeline Operations and Maintenance;
  • Assist with monthly budget monitoring for Pipeline Operations, month end accruals, updating and providing reports to supervisors;
  • Develop strong understanding of programs and policies;
  • Issue Weekly Availability Report and monthly Vehicle Mileage Report;
  • Coordinate and assist Director in preparing weekly reports for the Vice President, Engineering and Operations;
  • Event planning and preparation for a variety of events (Safety BBQ, Social Committee events, etc.);
  • Book meetings and conferences as requested; and
  • Supporting various departments in the Burnaby Office, as needed.

Qualifications and Professional Experience:


  • Enrolled in a Business program (preference for Finance) with an accredited postsecondary institution;
  • Experience managing confidential and sensitive information appropriately, with great attention to detail;
  • Strong clerical, organizational and administrative skills;
  • Some database and analytical experience;
  • Ability to work well with others and manage multiple requests from teammates and community; and
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).

Other Requirements and Information:


  • Must be enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution and return to full time studies in the Fall; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
