Bookkeeper
Assurance Home Care

Ottawa, ON

Bookkeeper - Full-time employment $25-31 per hour start

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized accounting systems;
Maintain general ledgers and financial statements;
Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management;
Prepare and issue invoices in accordance with established procedures;
Process a complex payroll, electronic deposits and employee pay adjustments;
Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances;
Complete and submit tax remittance forms, WSIB, workers compensation forms and other government documents;
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities;
Liaise with managerial staff, colleagues and clients;
Performs clerical and other related duties as required.

Qualifications

College diploma or equivalent in Accounting, Commerce or Business Management is an asset;
Five years experience working in the accounting field;
Knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including invoice processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable;
Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
Experience with QuickBooks accounting software; Desktop version an asset
Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
