Job Description:


JOB OVERVIEW
An Events and Education Associate is also known as a Storyteller at Eataly.


A Storyteller assists guests with making educated and confident shopping decisions through sharing the stories of the people and places behind Eataly's products as well as advising on food and beverage pairings.

Reports to; Events and Storytelling Manager.

  • Responds courteously to guest inquiries regarding availability, usage of products, the range of services, restaurant offerings, classes at Eataly's Chef's Table, recipe help and location of products throughout the market
  • Listens actively and asks questions to understand guests' needs and preferences; recommends food and beverage items
  • Develops comprehensive knowledge of Eataly's products through diligent participation in live and video training and active use of Eataly's product library
  • Communicates daily/monthly new information to Eataly teams
  • Prepares and executes product tastings and demonstrations
  • Interacts with Eataly teams and vendors, passing information on to Eataly's Buying, Private Events and Public Relations teams
  • Assists with events, such as feste and sagre, and tours for guests
  • Circulates store regularly to ensure shopping carts are always available in designated areas
  • Opens and closes cash till and ensures an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements during the work shift
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail and/or restaurant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and passion for Italian food and beverage
  • Outstanding communication and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Outgoing personality and ability to sell
  • Intermediate computer skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert wellpaced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
