This opportunity for a Training Co-op Student is 8 -16 months in duration. Reporting to the Manager, Continuous Improvement this position is responsible for assisting with the deployment of Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with process, tools, personnel, and workshops with lessons learned.
Assist with development and coordination of procedures/documentation for our Integrated Management System initiative
Assist with and plan key problem-solving workshops, follow through and track actions with owners to ensure effectiveness of countermeasures implemented.
Assist CI Manager in rollout and communications of Excellence in Nuclear Construction (ENC) Initiative.
Schedule, attend and help facilitate workshops in rollout of ENC workshops. Follow up on Action Tracking with owners to ensure timely rollout of phased approach of ENC.
Assist with planning activities implementation (T- Process, Last Planner System) as implemented in project.
Actively promote a nuclear safety culture to all levels of the project teams and support Human Performance program management.
Gather metrics and create reports and scorecards where required.
Train key staff and conduct paired Waste Walks both in field and office setting.
Assist with implementation and ongoing maintenance of a BIG Room
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- 3rd or 4th year postsecondary education in engineering or business
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Previous experience using Electronic Document Management Systems is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are required
- Ability to be selfmotivated and work effectively with mínimal direction
- Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a highpressure work environment
- Ability to work effectively within a team
