Working Hours: 35 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday.

In addition, the incumbent will require some flexibility and availability to work within an irregular schedule, including evenings and weekends, during program delivery periods.

8 weeks term, from March 27 to May 26, 2023.

Key Activities:


A three-week professional side-by-side program led by Artistic Director Alexander Shelley for 50 emerging artists from around the world, the NAC Orchestra Mentorship Program requires proven support staff working with the Emerging Artist Professional Development Officer and the Artist Professional Development Associate to prepare and execute this internationally renowned program.


Reporting to the Emerging Artist Professional Development Officer, the NACOMP Administrative Associate will assist in the preparation of the participant body including administration of orientation information and welcome packages.

The incumbent will principally liaise with participants and step in when the Officer and Associate are unavailable.

They will be called upon to welcome and coordinate audiences during public events, and to be on hand for mock auditions and other participant events such as sectionals, rehearsals, and social events.

They will be invaluable in supporting NAC staff during the program.


Skill Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year professional experience in arts administration or school registrar setting;
  • Classical music knowledge an asset;
  • Previous work at the NAC is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and tact;
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and strong problemsolving skills;
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and Social Media;
  • Flexibility and availability to work within an irregular schedule, including evening and weekends during program delivery periods;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Fluent in both official languages.
