Canadian Business Development Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the supported business obligations, operational requirements and contractual needs with Canada's largest marine customers to ensure widespread, fleetwide satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal resources such as Marine Service Engineers, Applications and Administration to provide scope and system design for retrofit activities. Assist senior BD with requirements gathering and coordinate respond to large tender bid requests.
  • Follow company procedures/guidelines to ensure smooth execution while leading change management to find new efficiencies in day to day processes.
  • Contribute to new customer relationships and be actively apart of BD activities by assisting and reporting to the Americas Business Development Director
  • To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements.
  • Support and shift multiple priorities to be accountable to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Carry out any other reasonable management requests.

Required Criteria

  • 5 years' experience in BD, B2B sales or project coordination environment preferably working with commercial or industrial electronics
OR

  • 5 years' experience in a maritime environment with working knowledge of navigation procedures and principles.
  • Degreequalified in either engineering (e.g. electrical engineering, Information Technology or similar), business (e.g. business administration, business commerce) or maritime certification (e.g. seagoing or land based).
  • Knowledge of Marine Navigation and Communication Electronics (Radars, Gyrocompasses, VHF radios, VDR's etc.).
  • Knowledge of IT system design and network architectures such TCP/IP, UDP.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities and multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong organizational, numeracy and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using MS Office products
  • Canadian Citizenship
  • Clean abstract, ability to operate a motor vehicle, travel internationally and domestically up to 25% of the year.

Asset Criteria

  • Master's or postgraduate degree in relevant discipline
  • Navigation systems definition, design, integration, acceptance and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of marine specific standards (e.g. IEC 60945, IEC611621/2/450/460) and Class society navigation Regulations (USCG / Lloyds etc.).

LOCATION :
Hybrid. When requested, must within a reasonable same day commute to office when required in to Richmond, Halifax or St. John's offices to support and lead staff.
