Job Description:

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in full cycle advanced level
accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, Financial Statements analysis, Budget preparation, system implementations, year-end processing and special analysis. You are required to have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.


Reports to:

CFO

Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects accounting. This includes A/P, A/R, Bank Reconciliations, Inventory accounting, and Payroll functions for US and Canada
  • Overall management of accounting department.
  • Prepare monthly/annual financial statements with variance analysis
  • Streamline the Accounts payable systems
  • Coordinate and post foreign exchange/multicurrency transactions
  • Acquire indepth knowledge of corporate accounting policies, budgeting process, accounting software and how these fit into the full business process. Job requires extensive use of computerized accounting and operational matters.
  • Must be able to develop new operational processes.
  • Analyse/review employee expenses and commissions
  • Acquire a good understanding of inventory procedures/costing
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
  • Strong experience in the Intercompany reconciliations in multi company environment
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Prepare year end schedules and coordinate with external accountants
  • Analyze and recommend accounting process improvements.
  • Must be familiar with GST/HST/WCB remittances. Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting
  • Exposure to computerized accounting system is a must. You must know how to create a new company chart of account, concept of default accounts setup
  • Exposure to property management, real estate accounting and CAM (Common area maintenance) understanding will be an advantage
  • Exposure to ecommerce accounting will be an advantage.
  • Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts
  • Provide suggestions to senior management for continued improvements to the systems efficiency
  • Additional duties as needed.

Employment Requirements:


  • Currently in a similar role or capacity for at least five years.
  • Must be in a senior position
  • Must be a team player
  • Able to work independently in a fastpaced environment, establish work priorities, multitask effectively and balance the varying demands of a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new and challenging responsibilities.
  • Be a problem solver

Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or pursuing a professional degree in accounting. International credentials with Canadian experience can be considered.
  • Understanding of SQLand API
  • Experience with SAP B1 and QuickBooks will be an added advantage.
  • Advanced Skills in Excel and MS outlook is a must
  • Report creations

Pay:
$85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
