- Perform the function and role of Head Meat Cutter.
- Lead, train and supervise all staff in Meat department.
- Manage and maintain consistent buying and selling policies as per association standards.
- Direct the preparation of sales and promotion events.
- Maintain competitive prices and initiate price checks.
- Comply with all CFIA government standards applicable to the Meat Department.
- Ensure a high level of prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
- Responsible for all food safety, cleaning, sanitizing and housekeeping regulations and association standards
- Responsible for merchandising, budgeting, inventories, human resources and customer relations.
- Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise in department meets all the Co-operative's standards.
- Review and analyse the operating statements related to the department, in order to ensure efficient operating and initiate immediate corrective action where necessary.
- Maintenance of the Co-operative's equipment, merchandising fixtures and premises.
- Ensure all policies and procedures of the Co-operative are communicated and maintained.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Candidates will have 5+ years of experience in a Meat Department.
- Meat Cutter certification is required.
- Preference would be given to candidates who have experience as a team leader, supervisor or mentor and also have experience working within a complex, high volume, retail setting.
- Experience within the Co-op retail system would be considered an asset, in addition to CRS Candidates whom have completed or are completing Advance Training.
