Impact Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer who is self-motivated and has a passion for sustainable design and making a positive impact on the environment.

The qualified candidate will have demonstrated experience in completing building energy studies and/or mechanical system design. You are detail oriented and a team player with good communication skills and enthusiasm to learn and to grow.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design of HVAC and plumbing systems, focusing on energy retrofits
• Perform building load calculations using Excel and modeling software such as Carrier HAP
• Prepare energy studies and technical reports; analyze utility data and conduct engineering analysis
• Support project implementation and construction administration
• Drafting in AutoCAD
• Coordination of designs with other disciplines
• Review of shop drawings and other submittals.
• Perform field reviews during construction.

Skills/Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma
• Currently registered as an E.I.T. with EGBC or eligible to register an asset
• Familiarity with building mechanical equipment and systems
• Familiarity with mechanical building services design with knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy systems
• Ability to read building design drawings
• Knowledge of design concepts and fundamentals
• Knowledge of BC Plumbing code an asset
• Experience with drafting and modeling software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of building controls and energy management systems an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $61,000.00-$71,500.00 per year
