About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Management and Support, the Carpenter is responsible for completing repairs/alterations to building structures, i.e.

millwork, walls, ceilings, doors etc., and may include cutting keys, building cores for our lock system (training will be provided).

The incumbent is also responsible for in-house renovations and additions, as required.

This work must be done in accordance with all codes and Provincial Acts as with all pertinent policies and procedures.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Nova Scotia Journeyperson Carpentry certificate with National Red Seal Inter-Provincial ticket.
  • One year of post Journeyperson experience required, four years preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety codes.
  • Demonstrated communication and problemsolving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eager to learn new skills and participate in onthejob training.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and in emergency situations.
  • Valid training in the following would be considered an asset: WHMIS, confined space awareness, fall protection, Arc flash, first aid, lockout tag
- out and infection control.

  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • If personal vehicle must be used, reimbursement will be made available
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours:


  • Permanent, fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $28.82 Hourly
