Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Test Centres, the incumbent is responsible for administering, securing and invigilating testing within an extended day/week operation.

Please note, these positions will be fully on site and incumbents are required to come onto their scheduled campuses.


Shift Schedule

  • Shifts (times and locations) are determined based on operational need and are provided to employees on a monthly basis.
  • Shifts generally take place between the hours of 8:30am and 10:00pm.
  • The incumbent can usually expect to work at King Campus on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 4:30, but may sometimes be required to work later shifts at Newnham Campus (or, rarely, other campuses) on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • While the general schedule is Monday to Friday, the incumbent may on occasion (generally once every 2 months) be assigned a Saturday morning shift, usually at Newnham Campus.

Responsibilities:


Testing

  • Monitors internal system for test submissions from faculty and external clients and prints test submissions as required.
  • Registers students for testing and provides orientation to Test Centre processes.
  • Collects payments, if required.
  • Invigilates all forms of testing.
  • Processes and uploads test results and placements onto computerized systems.

Administration

  • Inputs and schedules Skills Assessment appointments.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots basic technological issues.
  • Administers accessibility requirements.
  • Provides adequate coverage for Test Centre operations during absences and leaves.
  • Tabulates Test Centre usage data, inputs data on spreadsheets and creates reports.

Training

  • Provides orientation and training on processes and procedures to new staff, as required.

Qualifications:


Education

  • Minimum two (2) year diploma in Business, Humanities, or a related discipline. If education is in another field of study, please state how it is related.
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR and/or Mental Health certification is an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a high volume, computerized, frontfacing, customer service environment working with individuals with accommodation needs.

Skills

  • Experience working with various types of equipment/hardware to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Experience and aptitude in instructing and guiding clients in an educational setting.
  • Strong human relation skills to effectively work with a diverse mix of students and Faculty; ability to interact with ease and effectiveness to make sound judgement decisions independently.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills; maturity to problem solve and think critically; and ability to handle stress and work under pressure, while maintaining good customer service.
  • Ability to organize workload, establish priorities and work with mínimal supervision.

Notes:

  • Position includes regular travel to multiple campuses.
  • Position includes light lifting up to 5 to 20 kg or 11 to 44 lbs on occasion.
  • A skills assessment test will be administered during the recruitment process.


A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered as equivalent to the above requirements in the event that there are no internal applicants that meet the qualifications as posted.

Equivalency will be assessed by the talent acquisition team.
