Enbridge is delighted to welcome an Electrical Technician onto the team in Medicine Hat While in this role, you will maintain, repair, install, and commission equipment such as motors, motor control centers, medium voltage switchgear, instrumentation equipment, communication networks and other electrical equipment.

What you will do:

  • Ensure that work is performed in compliance with company Operating and Maintenance (O&M) procedure requirements.
  • Complete and stay up to date with all required safety and technical training.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot pipeline systems electrical equipment including substation equipment, medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, communication networks and instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors, Planners, Schedulers, other Technicians, and other stakeholders as required to plan, schedule, and finish the work safely, efficiently, and optimally.
  • Use maintenance software to document maintenance work and maintain facility records and update drawings as required.
  • Develop and execute equipment lockouts.
  • Execute onecall requests and crossing reports. Line locating when required.
  • Maintain facilities for cleanliness, safety, and security.

Who you are:

  • Journeyperson Electrical with provincial or interprovincial certification with minimum of 2 years of related industrial experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Above average analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Role requires a valid driver's license, which will be verified with a driver's abstract check prior to hire.
  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

Working Conditions:

  • Mix of field (~80%) and office (~20%) environments.


  • Schedule: Monday

  • Friday with oncall rotation. Emergency response and overtime as required.
  • This position requires climbing, bending, lifting, standing, and crouching on a repetitive basis.
  • Daily travel required within the area. Occasional travel within Canada.
  • Frequent travel and oncall responsibilities for assigned areas and stations.
