The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik.

Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees:
administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.


FONCTIONS:


Under the authority of the Director of Community Services, you will be responsible for the administrative and clinical management of a multidisciplinary team of interveners who offer services related to the Public Health, Family/Child/Youth and Act Early programs, in close collaboration with the other head of programs of the direction.


More specifically, you will work on:

  • Continue the implementation of the SIPPE and social pediatrics programs in the various communities on the Ungava coast;
  • Implement the collaboration guide youth in difficulty in partnership with the DYP and the youth rehabilitation services;
  • Continue the development of youth mental health services;
  • Ensures the proper functioning of public health programs in terms of promotion, prevention, screening and activities;
  • Collaborate in the improvement of school services and develop collaboration with schools in the various communities;
  • Ensure administrative or clinical oncall in rotation with other managers;
  • Monitor the indicators related to its services;
  • Ensure the adequate followup of the interventions carried out by his employees (SIC+);
  • Assesses the human, financial and material resources under his responsibility;
  • Ensure compliance with and evaluation of the programs under his responsibility;
  • Travel to the village at the request of his/her management;
  • Cover, as needed, his management colleagues of his direction
  • Perform any other related task at the request of the immediate superior.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the position, such as social work, psychology, sexology, criminology or psychoeducation;
  • A 2nd cycle degree in management will be considered an asset;
  • Be an active member of his professional order;
  • Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience related to the position;
  • Two (2) years of management experience in the health and social services sector will be considered an asset;
  • Ability in planning, communication, positive leadership and good team mobilization skills;
  • Able to work easily with Word, Outlook, SIC+ software;
  • Good adaptability, good stress management;
  • Northern experience in Inuit communities is an asset;
  • Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written. Fluency in Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Available to travel to the village;
  • Available outside of regular hours for administrative guards
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available to travel by plane to the other communities of Nunavik if required

Conditions and benefits
The applicable working conditions are those of managers in the health and social services sector:

SALARY CLASS 37 :
Min: $78,482 / Max: $ / year


ISOLATION PREMIUM :
10,627$ or 18,732$ / year, as per the family status


HIGH COST OF LIVING :
3,870$ / year or more as per the family status


RETENTION PREMIUM :
6,000$ to 10 750$ / year as per the number of year of services
