    About the work environment:

    Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

    About you :

    You are a passionate, solution-oriented, and goal-orientated team player who is a strong communicator and possesses thorough knowledge of both conventional and CMHC commercial mortgages/financings across various real estate asset classes in the Canadian marketplace. You're an organized customer service superstar and enjoy developing and implementing strategic plans to grow the Peoples Trust conventional and CMHC loan portfolio, manage and strengthen client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver on client expectations and company results.

    About you / qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in CMHC-insured construction and term loans.
  • Expertise in originating, structuring, underwriting, and executing conventional construction and bridge loans across various real estate asset classes.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or MBA.
  • CPA/CMA, and/or CFA certifications.
  • Oral and written proficiency in French and English is essential.
  • Strong commercial real estate mortgage underwriting skills.
  • Knowledge of current AML and KYC requirements related to commercial real estate mortgages/financings.
  • Excellent customer service and business development skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in managing large-account loan portfolios and building client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software.
  • Highly organized, solution-oriented, and goal-oriented.
  • A self-starter who excels at multitasking and thrives under pressure in a team environment.
  • About the day-to-day:

  • Originate and underwrite CMHC-insured loan proposals for both construction and term mortgages.
  • Handle the origination and underwriting of conventional loan proposals across various asset classes, including construction, land, and bridge loans.
  • Prepare direct CMHC applications for loan insurance.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal credit application submissions to Peoples Trust's Credit Committee.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Real Estate Associates, Analysts, and Coordinators.
  • Work closely with the Mortgage Administration team to ensure smooth funding of all assigned loans.
  • Work closely with the Regional Vice President and Assistant Vice President to drive the success of our Commercial Mortgage division in the Eastern Canadian marketplace for Peoples Trust.
  • Engage in active marketing and business development efforts to drive growth in the Eastern Canadian CMHC and Conventional loan portfolio.
  • Annual Compensation:

    Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary and discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $80,000 and $95,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
