Lead the teams and technology solutions that support the business capabilities for Global Collections and Real Estate in Canada and International Banking.

Ensure technology strategies, projects and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with business requirements, governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Enable Global Collections Operations and Real Estate through innovative solutions that are sustainable, flexible, reliable, and scalable, to continually meet the growing global footprint and digital-first mandate.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners, technology partners, stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and their teams, to facilitate collaboration.
  • Lead and drive a customerfocused culture throughout the team to deepen our knowledge and relationships with business partners.
  • Ownership for the Global Collections and Real Estate Technology strategies and roadmaps.
  • Take a strategic focus aligned to business priorities and bring innovative thinking to strategic problems.
  • Lead teams that deliver transformative technology solutions to enable success through increased efficiency, reduced cost, faster time to market. Oversee teams working on the implementation of solutions that address risks and issues that have a broad impact on projects, systems, and teams (e.g. software currency, vulnerabilities)
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage platform capabilities effectively, deliver future proof technology solutions and take a leading role in initiatives to drive innovation and digital transformation throughout the Bank.
  • Provide IT leadership, PMO and Finance with the data and information to support operating budgets and business cases.
  • Participate in the process to establish, communicate, and manage objectives, strategies and plans for the Collections and Real Estate technology teams, ensuring quality principles are adhered to in a 'speedtomarket' culture. Review planned activities for future initiatives, participate in forwardplanning sessions and identify/ resolve conflicts between initiatives.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Create and maintain an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build and maintain a highperformance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key business and technical concepts, and then effectively communicate these concepts with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and to manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Strong analytical, finance & accounting, data processing and problemsolving skills
  • Experience managing operating budgets and project budgets.
  • Strong project management skills, able to multitask and manage concurrent projects.
  • Experience with vendor product assessment & selection, vendor management & negotiating contractual terms.
  • Proven ability to deliver platforms and capabilities and managing solutions through the lifecycle.
  • Significant experience leading complex solution implementations and team sizes ranging from 20 to 60 resources.
  • Deep understanding of heterogeneous infrastructure technologies, business drivers, emerging technology trends related to customer information systems e.g., Legacy Technologies as well as Cloud, API integration, and leading transformational change incorporating modern technologies.
  • Subject area experience with Financial Industry products and services preferred: Retail Banking/Lending, Commercial Banking/Lending, Credit Card Processing
  • Subject area experience with Collections, Fraud, Corporate Security & Content Management Solutions is an asset.
  • Considerable experience transforming a delivery team to adopt Agile principles and operate in a DevOps environment enabling CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery).
  • Understanding of IT business continuity, cybersecurity, and integrated risk
