INTRODUCTION:


Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services.

Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients.

These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.


Reporting to the Vice President of Client Services, the Northern Regional Director will serve as the voice of the customer within the organization ensuring a high level of client satisfaction through the management of service deliverables, providing support, direction and training to our commissionaires, keeping accurate records, ensuring a safe work environment, meeting regularly with the client representative(s), updating contract details, and recommending efficiencies to service as appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain a positive, professional work environment in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Proactively communicate with all clients and employees to maintain a high level of compliance and service delivery.
  • Serve as the escalation point for all client and employee inquiries, concerns, or complaints. Ensure effective and timely resolution of complaints, problems, and requests.
  • Lead all regional operations to ensure service delivery is consistent with the operating procedures established by the Company and Client.
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports in a way that fosters good morale, continuous skill development, and productivity.
  • Devise, recommend, or implement programs aimed at proactively collecting customer feedback, enhancing service delivery, and resolving service concerns.
  • Actively participate in the staffing process, including conducting interviews and making selections through competitions and appointments.
  • Ensure scheduling is well managed to effectively meet client requirements; review site reports to ensure post orders and client directions have been followed.
  • Develop and implement corrective / preventative actions for noncompliance events.
  • Ensure the health and safety (H&S) of all employees, and; ensure H&S related activities are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks. Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide input to company and Region initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
  • Perform other functions, duties and tasks as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Postsecondary Diploma in a related field such as: Business Admin, Police Foundations, Operations Management or equivalent level of experience and/or education
  • Formal leadership/management training
  • Minimum 5 years' middle management experience with several direct reports
  • Strong client management and consulting skills
  • Highly reliable and able to work in a dynamic work environment
  • Positive attitude and ability to provide strong leadership to mangers/supervisors and commissionaires in the field
  • Must be perceived as a strong leader by those who will be reporting into the position
- "Self-starter" with ability to execute with little supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills who enjoys being a mentor and coach
  • Must have or qualify for Federal Secret Level II clearance and hold valid security guard licence
  • Must be able to commute to and from the workplace, to the various client site locations throughout CGL and work from home as required
