MANAGER, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Reporting to President and owner of the Company, the Manager plays a vital role for the Company by overseeing, planning, and managing the corporate finance and accounting functions.
The Manager monitors the financial health of the company and identifies and implements improvements and best practices in structure and processes in areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare monthly internal financial statements and yearend working paper on a timely basis
- Reporting of monthly KPI's to the management team
- Prepare budget & forecasts
- Oversee A/R collections, A/P and Payroll processing
- Prepare payroll for salaried employees and maintain vacation pay accumulators
- Responsible for all aspects of tax compliance including preparation and filing of returns for GST, PST, WorkSafeBC and employer health tax.
- Manage annual process of obtaining appropriate commercial insurance coverage
- Supervise accounting staff, including external correspondence. Provide mentoring, coaching, supervision, and uptraining for the current accounting team, along with daytoday support, as required
- Assist in selection and implementation of backoffice systems both financial and operational.
- Assist in execution of Strategic Plan and initiatives
- Responsible for Office/facilities and overall Office Administration
Qualifications and Skills
- CPA designation with a bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 5+ years as a lead accountant/controller in an operating company
- Strong interpersonal skills; including teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work with tight time frames while simultaneously managing several projects
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Develops new initiatives and workflows to improve processes
- Selfmotivated individual; flexible and adaptable; proactive; selfstarter
