The Brand Business Consultant provides strategic marketing and brand leadership to a designated partner group (assigned business areas).

This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement marketing tactics that support business objectives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and priorities.

Guided by marketing best practices, the Brand Business Consultant is the business' first point of contact in Marketing and Communications, building relationships and providing strategic brand consultation and support.

This role interprets business plans to develop and coordinate strategic marketing plans, creative briefs.

As well, the Brand Business Consultant facilitates and manages annual designated partner plans; executes advertising and collateral development for provincial, regional and national initiatives to maximize visibility and awareness and leveraging SGI's brand.

Key Accountabilities

Brand & Marketing- Provides brand and marketing leadership to designated partner group:

  • Facilitates quarterly and annual partner planning sessions.
  • Develops and implements marketing tactics to support partner needs and goals, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and priorities.
  • Ensures adherence to corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Interprets partners' business strategies and develops creative strategies, briefs, tools and budgets to realize brand and marketing opportunities.
  • Leads and assembles cross-functional teams to execute advertising and collateral development.
  • Ensures messaging is consistent and marketing solutions are aligned with SGI's brand.
  • Coordinates brand and marketing projects using project management best practices.
  • Assess and approves requests for sales support and promotional materials; prioritizes requests based on corporate objectives.
  • Acts as a liaison between Customer, Communications and Marketing (CCM) and designated business partners to enable appropriate planning tactics to support strategies.
  • Collaborates with CCM colleagues and SGI's advertising agency of record during development, production, distribution and evaluation to produce high quality materials to achieve business objectives.
  • Responds to customer, employee and partner feedback regarding advertising campaigns.
  • Ensures that established departmental service standards for quality, timelines, budget and satisfaction are met.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, brand and consumer protection standards.


Brand Activity and Evaluation- Develops measurable objectives for brand and marketing activities.- Collects data, reports result and adjusts marketing/advertising plans as needed to achieve goals.- Collaborates with other areas to gather data that will be used to inform approach on future brand activities.- Continually identifies opportunities for new brand initiatives.


Guideline and Asset Management- Liaises with internal and external partners to provide appropriate logo file types and guidelines and review proofs to ensure adherence to brand standards.- Assists the Manager in maintaining and updating brand guidelines and standards.- Maintains creative strategies, briefs, tools, budgets, final artwork and imagery files for all brand and marketing tactics in a shared location.- Maintains established hierarchical and naming structure for brand assets in shared locations.

(SharePoint)- Manages internal and external folder permissions to shared brand assets.


Administrative Support- Develops, tracks and processes budgets and related expenses and invoices within area of responsibility.- Reconciles monthly p-card transactions.- Schedules meetings and maintains project and production schedules.


Leadership- Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.- Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.- Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.- Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.


Corporate Management- Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.- Manages risk in area of authority.- Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.
