The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry provides outstanding education within a research

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff.


The Centre for Studies in Family Medicine (CSFM) is an interdisciplinary team of investigators, research, administrative staff and students (approximately 50 members at present) recognized nationally and internationally as leaders in family medicine and primary health care research.

We, at CSFM, conduct, foster, disseminate, implement excellent interdisciplinary research in family medicine, primary care, health systems and community health.


Responsibilities:


The Research Coordinator will work with Principal Investigators on several short-term Family Medicine research projects and CIHR-funded grants, including examining the impact of the COVID pandemic on older adults with multimorbidity.

The role will be responsible for coordinating the preparation, implementation and completion of research projects, and participating in the analysis and dissemination of research findings.

The role will also support the facilitation and implementation of projects through involvement in recruiting participants, scheduling and conducting interviews, managing survey and interview data, preparing reports and drafting manuscripts, and other operations required for the research projects.

In addition, the role will liaise with a variety of stakeholders to build research capacity and ensure the successful coordination of all tasks to achieve the research outcomes.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Master's degree with a Major in Epidemiology, Public Health, Social Science, or a related discipline

Experience:

  • 2 years' experience in a related health research area
  • Experience in project administration
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research ethics in an academic environment
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
  • Awareness of knowledge translation and exchange principles
  • Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
  • Communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience, as well as complete detailed analytics and reports
  • Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
  • Attention to detail and proofreading abilities
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis with direction
