The Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN) is a collaboration of established researchers who provide timely, high-quality, drug policy relevant research to decision makers to guide and inform their decisions.

The ODPRN has expertise in generating real world evidence related to the utilization, outcomes, safety, effectiveness, and costs of drugs in Ontario.

The ODPRN's work has informed decisions related to system efficiency, quality of care, and health outcomes at regional, provincial, national, and international levels.

The ODPRN is currently seeking a Research Coordinator II (Epidemiologist) for a 12-month full time (1.0 FTE) position.

In this role, the Epidemiologist will work collaboratively with other members of the ODPRN to develop research proposals and analysis plans for the research team.

They will work on drafting reports, manuscripts and knowledge translation materials, as well as assist in dissemination strategies for research deliverables.

The individual will also help support knowledge translation activities and collaborate with people with lived experience and the public throughout the research process.

We are seeking an individual with strong skills in epidemiology, project management, communication, patient engagement and research dissemination. This position will offer the successful applicant a challenging and rewarding research environment.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Developing research proposals and dataset creation and analysis plans that will leverage administrative data from ICES or other sources (e.g., IQVIA, CIHI), under the direction of ODPRN Scientists;
Assisting with developing study design, study methods, and definitions;
Preparing figures and tables from research output;
Drafting research reports, and aiding in the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, grants, presentations and other research deliverables, in collaboration with the team;
Developing knowledge translation materials and communication tools that summarize research findings (e.g., research summaries, policy briefs);
Coordinating research activities in collaboration with the team, including general project management, monitoring timelines, and preparing meetings;
Completing literature searches and environmental scans as needed;
Assisting in the coordination of the ODPRN Citizens' Panel as well as the Lived Experience Advisory Group;
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and organizations;
Implementing dissemination strategies and techniques that will increase awareness of the ODPRN's work and research findings;


Qualifications:


Undergraduate Degree and 3 years of relevant experience (in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, public health, or another health-related discipline), OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience.

Master's preferred (in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, public health, or another health-related discipline)
Experience designing or conducting epidemiologic, public health, or health services research projects
Understanding of epidemiology, and biostatistical and data analytic concepts and methods
Experience with ICES data or other administrative databases (e.g., DAD, NACRS, OHIP)
Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Well-developed ability to work in a team environment and independently
Experience using statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) an asset
