OTR Tire Technician - Rainy River:

Rainy River mine is an open pit, underground gold mine. The mine is located approximately 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances in Northwestern Ontario. The shift schedule for this position would be 14x14.

As a Tire Technician in the Kal Tire Mining Tire Group, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service as well as repair for mining tires and adhering to Kal Tire's work and safety standards.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Excellence

Perform tire service on customer equipment, the Kal Tire
Assist mine maintenance staff as required.
Conduct appropriate maintenance on tools and
Maintain appropriate tire inspection and maintenance
Respond to afterhours callouts as directed by your
Demonstrate and promote best practices and continuous improvement in everything we

Operational / Technical

Dismount and mount tires for a variety of vehicles for the mining tire
Ensure that all tires are mounted safely and according to load
Perform equipment checks and
Fit and remove wheels from any type of
Mount and strip any type of tire and assemble
Balance any type of tire and rim
Perform repairs to tires and
Perform Inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in
Operate heavyduty tire servicing equipment and
Conduct maintenance checks and ensure all work is done according to Kal Tire's work and safety
Complete required reporting and logging of data, as
Ensure the warehouse is maintained in an orderly, clean, and safe
Assist in maintaining stock for tirerelated equipment.

Health, Safety & Environment

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and
Ensure that hygiene standards are maintained in the
Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment to your Supervisor/lead hand so the appropriate action to eliminate or reduce the risk to acceptable
Report all incidents and injuries according to
Assist and cooperate with the site safety representative to resolve safety issues
Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment at all
Perform vehicle Prestart checks according to
Actively participate in regular meetings and inspections in order to promote and improve safety in the workplace and document
Read and confirm incident notices and other safety information conveyed to all
Comply with site emergency evacuation

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least two years of related experience with direct experience as a tire fitter
OTR service training and certifications Basic tire fitting skills
Tire Fitter Levels 1 & 2 preferred.
Experience operating and maintaining tire manipulators, forklifts, and service
Experience working in an environment where safety procedures are a key part of daily

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to physically perform the duties of an OTR Tire Technician
Able to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses, certificates as required to perform the duties as required to work at mine
Able to perform mechanically related
Able to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe
Able to work in a resultsoriented, fastpaced environment as part of a
Must be a selfstarter and willing to take the initiative, solve problems, be able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training
Understand tire failure causes and
Good communication skills and ability to express themselves well both verbally and in
Good literacy and numeracy
