Job Purpose
The Ultra Sonic (UT) Production Technician assembles, calibrates, maintains, troubleshoots, and improves the design of ultrasonic sensors and instrumentation to ensure accurate flaw detection and material thickness measurements.
This role provides expertise to support effective use of UT sensors to collect thickness data to safely perform asset maintenance, improve operational effectiveness and minimize downtime.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Production technician shall safely provide:
- mechanical design and manufacturing processes using hand tools, power tools, and CNC operation.
- calibration and repair using special test instruments, jigs and fixtures according to policies, procedures and practices.
- insight and historical knowledge to improve production efficiencies in house.
- the completion and assembly of small printed circuit boards including soldering.
Working Conditions
Office consisting of an 8-hour day.
Occasional extra hours may be required to support AIMS and / or PIP360 to implement business strategies, plans or procedures.
Physical Requirements
The position will require standing or sitting long hours, depending on the tasks, and are repetitive in nature.

Qualifications
Education
- NAIT or Similar post secondary with mechanical, instrumentation, industrial or machine shop experience.
Skills & Abilities
The Production Technologist shall be familiar with and have experience with:
- Microsoft office suite
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and processes for manufacturing.
- Effective communication skills; proficient in written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize.
- Collaborate as a team player.
Experience
5+ years of experience, knowledge or interest in manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, mechanical maintenance, electronic testing.
