Accounts Payable Coordinator - Ottawa, Canada - canarie
Description
The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be accountable for performing CANARIE's accounts payable processes, as well as other day-to-day accounting tasks.
This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to CANARIE's Finance Manager.Key Responsibilities:
Support Accounts payable by:
- Entering accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices and expense reports
- Matching vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Analyzing and processing funded participant claims
- Recording vendor payment transactions (e.g., wire transfers, bill payments, etc.)
- Maintaining excellent vendor relationships
- Preparing accounts payable reports and subledger reconciliations
Contributing to day-to-day financial accounting by:
- Preparing bank deposits
- Recording cash receipts transactions
- Preparing actual vs budget variance reports
- Participating in the preparation of budget and forecast processes
- Participating in the monthend, quarterend, and yearend accounting closing activities
- Related duties and responsibilities, as required

Relevant experience in publicly funded not-for-profit organizations is desirable. Bilingualism is preferred.
What You Bring:
Education and Experience:
- College diploma or university degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
Technical Proficiencies:
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, is desirable
