Description

The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be accountable for performing CANARIE's accounts payable processes, as well as other day-to-day accounting tasks.

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to CANARIE's Finance Manager.


Key Responsibilities:


Support Accounts payable by:

  • Entering accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices and expense reports
  • Matching vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
  • Analyzing and processing funded participant claims
  • Recording vendor payment transactions (e.g., wire transfers, bill payments, etc.)
  • Maintaining excellent vendor relationships
  • Preparing accounts payable reports and subledger reconciliations

Contributing to day-to-day financial accounting by:

  • Preparing bank deposits
  • Recording cash receipts transactions
  • Preparing actual vs budget variance reports
  • Participating in the preparation of budget and forecast processes
  • Participating in the monthend, quarterend, and yearend accounting closing activities
  • Related duties and responsibilities, as required

Relevant experience in publicly funded not-for-profit organizations is desirable. Bilingualism is preferred.


What You Bring:


Education and Experience:


  • College diploma or university degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience

Skills:


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details

Technical Proficiencies:


  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, is desirable
