Job Description
What you'll be doing:


  • Ensure the consistent delivery of Community Development Programs at YWCA housing sites
  • Responsible for the hiring and supervision of Community Development Coordinators, including having biweekly one to one meetings
  • Conduct regular onsite visits to each Community Development Programs
  • Facilitate monthly meetings of the Community Development Program Team
  • Work collaboratively with the Housing Services Team
  • Create and monitor the Community Development Program budgets
  • Work with the Community Development Coordinators to complete annual Balanced Scorecards
  • Work with the Community Development Coordinators to complete annual program inventories
  • Fill in for Community Development Coordinators during their vacations or other time off
  • Community networking, attend meetings and workshops as needed
  • Representing the YWCA on community committees and in the media on on issues impacting lone parenting women
  • Other duties as required

What you'll need:


  • A solid understanding of the issues faced by lone parenting women
  • An understanding of community development principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Appropriate boundaries
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, Share Point, One Drive, Relias Training, ADP Workforce Now and/or Safetyline an asset.
  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
  • The YWCA Metro Vancouver's COVID19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID19 is not required at this time. However, should circumstances change and the YWCA deem it necessary to reintroduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
