    Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electronics Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mobile telecommunications systems such as mine dispatch, two-way radios, camera systems, mobile equipment monitoring connectivity, shovel payload systems, and other similar systems to maximize system performance.

    This position will also provide development support to various improvement projects, including Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and drill Global Positioning System upgrades. This role follows a 4x4 days schedule with 12-hour shifts; however, is subject to change depending on operational requirements.

    To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who can interpret electrical drawings and service manuals, research new technologies, and make recommendations for system upgrades and improvements. This person works well independently and collaborates successfully with a team. The ability to learn various types of software is vital for success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
    • Install and maintain electronic equipment, such as data radios, Wenco Pit Control equipment, GPS systems, PLC based control systems, field equipment, shovel payload systems, two-way repeaters, flow meters, machine monitoring systems, and high voltage monitoring systems
    • Develop best practices, job procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
    • Maintain remote monitoring systems, such as pit dewatering, water storage, pumps, WIFI systems, pit control system, and tire monitoring
    • Provide training and mentorship

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
    • Experience with set-up, tuning, and adjusting radios, repeaters, and antennas
    • Experience with DC and AC analog, digital drive control systems, and PLC programming
    • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of computer hardware such as Wenco Dispatch, Keyscan, Carlson, Bench Manager, Tyresense, MEMS, GPS, and Terrain (Drills)
    • Strong digital proficiency, with strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite

    Salary Range: $80,000 - $99,000

    The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

    Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
