ScanTech is an Alberta based business that also provides services worldwide.
ScanTech is a small company specializing in the field of non-destructive gamma scanning services used primarily in the downstream oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
We strive to provide them with the best data achievable to minimize their downtime and costs in a timely manner.
As a Field Inspector you will be working with existing and new technologies on customer sites. Your work will provide information on their process operations and next steps.Your duties will consist of, but are not limited to:
- Adhere to all ScanTech, customer, and industry safety practices and requirements
- Communicate effectively to the team and customers
- Reading technical documents including drawings and P&IDs
- Data acquisition, analysis and report writing
- Working with radioactive materials
- Equipment maintenance and testing
- Assist in developing new technologies, equipment, programs, and services
- Customer contacts including technical sales and presentations
- Document writing and updates
- Looking for ways to innovate, solve problems and visualize the results of your work
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be eligible to work in Canada immediately on an unsponsored basis
- Possess a valid passport or be eligible for a Canadian passport
- Speak and write English
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract
- Pass a security background check
- Pass a drug and alcohol test
- Background in engineering, technical studies, or applicable work experience
- Strong organizational, speaking and writing skills
- Selfmotivated and independent worker
- Able to collaborate as part of a team with a diverse workforce
- Comfortable working at heights from a platform, crane man basket or other aerial lift equipment
- Physically capable of climbing towers while carrying equipment in backpacks, by using ladders and platforms of up to 100 meters in height
- Ability to work outside in both hot and cold environments
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule
- Able to travel to customer sites throughout Canada and overseas, sometimes on short notice
- Up to 20% international travel and Canadian travel to oil producing regions
- Ability to travel/work in the USA
