Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a
Full Time, Probationary, Health Recovery Facilitators for a work assignment with
Sir Alexander Mackenzie School .

More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools.

From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.

As a precondition of employment, all potential new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (all recommended doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada and recommended by Alberta Health Services).

Exceptions will only be considered upon proof of a medical condition, or other protected ground under the Alberta Human Rights Act.


Hours of Work:32.5 hrs /week; 6.5 hrs /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary


Hourly Rate:
$32.67 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:


  • Experience working collaboratively with teachers, parents and school counsellors in order to support students within the school environment.
  • Experience engaging in regular communication to support parents at home with struggles and concerns regarding students emotional and academic needs.
  • Experience creating, planning and implementing group and individual programs on topics such as healthy relationships, drug awareness, selfesteem, leadership and many more.
  • Experience working collaboratively with community resources and programs such as RCMP, Expecting Respect, Child Services, Boys and Girls Club, Alberta Mental Health, etc.
  • Diploma/Degree in child youth care.
  • Knowledge of human development and family dynamics in relation to family violence, trauma, addiction and poverty is essential.
  • Knowledge of local mental health treatment resources and the skills to make appropriate assessment and referrals.
  • The Health Recovery Facilitator provides behavior management, guidance, support and mentorship to the staff and parents when supporting students with complex mental health and/or social emotional challenges.
  • Under the general direction and guidance of the Supervisor, Student Services and the Division Coordinator, Inclusive Education, the Health Recovery Facilitator will support the wraparound process and follow up by supporting the school and families with the recommendations provided by the WrapAround Team.
  • Willingness and ability to provide professional development in the area of mental health and/or family wellness.
  • Familiar with conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
