About the role:

The AR Specialist position contributes to the success of WWS by providing direct support to the Management team and acting as a company representative to customers and carriers, ensuring all billing and anything related to finance is accurate.


The AR Specialist is responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data to produce accurate and timely bills/credits to the customer(s), collect on past due amounts, reconcile the company ledger to the customer's(s') ledger, and to support the Revenue team accounting processes and procedures are conforming to the applicable principles of accounting and regulatory requirements in a global public company for a(n) assigned book of the customer(s).

This position reports directly to the Controller.


Job Description:


Here is what an ordinary day of work might look like:

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue and accounts receivable transactions
  • Perform various accounting functions, including but not limited to customer invoicing, accounts receivable and collections, revenue accruals, customer analysis and reporting, reconciling of data, investigating deviations, etc.
  • Review accuracy & completeness of supporting documentation, necessary for billing & revenue recognition processes & procedures.
  • Prepare various reconciliations and supporting schedules and investigate deviations for timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with customer contracts and internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform monthly closing processes and monthly customer reporting.
  • Prepare various adhoc analysis and reports.
  • Maintain pricing matrixes for all customers and ensure required billing setups are in place in various systems, including coordinating with other depts as necessary.
  • Prepare analysis and resolution of cash receipts.
  • Perform timely followup of collections and documents accordingly.
  • Maintain documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Participate in continual process improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

This job is for you if you have:

  • Legally entitle to work in Canada without sponsorship needed
  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting.
  • 35 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Knowledgeable in GAAP / IFRS.
  • Have a BC class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation preferred
  • Advanced user of Excel, experience with large volumes of data preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a teamoriented environment.
  • Detailoriented, accuracy driven, wellorganized.
  • Selfstarter, proactive problem solver, remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong Multitasking, prioritizing, and time management
  • Aptitude to work in an agile environment where opportunities for change are continuously identified and acted upon.
