    Boccard Life Sciences, industrial integrator located in 35 countries, designs, manufactures, assembles, and installs process solutions for its customers worldwide in the Food & Ingredients, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, and Brewing Industries.

    We are looking for a hardworking and ambitious person to help us expand our process integrator business activities in USA and Canada. Under limited supervision, the Automation Technician is responsible for the manufacturing automation and controls systems design, specification, documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance.

    Position Functions:

    • Work as part of a larger multi-disciplined project team
    • Create the I/O List from Equipment List and P&IDs
    • Develop the functional analysis based on a Functional Description from a Mechanical Process Engineer
    • Develop the PLC program and/or HMI program from Boccard's or the client's development specifications
    • Participate and lead internals tests, such as Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test and Commissioning, including documentation their respective protocols,
    • Compile and author the Operator Installation Manual and technical equipment files
    • Provide operator and maintenance technician training

    Requirements:


    DEC/DCS or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years.

    Automation knowledge:


    Programmable Logic controllers:

    • Rockwell Studio 5000
    • Schneider Unity (not a requirement)
    • Modicon (not a requirement)
    • Siemens TIA Portal (not a requirement)

    Human Machine Interface:

    • Rockwell Factory Talk SE
    • Wonder ware InTouch and WSP (not a requirement)
    • GE iFIX (not a requirement)
    • Siemens WinCC (not a requirement)

    Communication protocols:

    • AS-i
    • Ethernet IP
    • Profinet (not a requirement)
    • Profibus (not a requirement)
    • CANopen (not a requirement)
    • VMware Software

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Competency in MS suite and other data entry software
    • Experience in the development of automated and monitored solutions on platforms from Rockwell, Schneider and Siemens
    • Versatility and strong willingness to learn and perform more than assigned tasks
    • Ability to complete tasks without constant supervision
    • A strong interest in technical tasks and willing to go out in the field
    • Detail oriented, good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to work on collaborative multi-disciplined projects autonomously
    • Involved in decision-making to execute of the assigned scope of work within the constraints of schedule, budget, and specification
    • Experience in the development of automated and monitored solutions on platforms from Rockwell

    This position requires proficiency in both French and English, as the nature of the duties involves regular communication with clients across Canada and the United States. The requirement for English is essential to perform these responsibilities effectively.
