Position Overview:


The Service Operations Manager will effectively plan, schedule and manage service workload and resources to meet customers' expectations for equipment service and maintenance.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational requirements of the branch and to set the strategy and goals for the branch operations business plan.


Job Description:


  • Responsible for the daytoday leadership of staff, including recruitment and selection, orientation, coaching and mentoring, performance feedback, and supporting growth and development opportunities.
  • Support a healthy and safe workplace by ensuring that all safety practices and policies are followed by employees, contractors and on site customers.
  • Manage and monitor the work order process.
  • Continually identify and recommend opportunities to improve service to customers.
  • Responsible for managing service operations and assets to achieve best possible financial results, aligned with the corporate strategy and personal objectives.
  • Effective planning, management and reporting of service financial results, assets and facilities requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years in a mechanical service environment with leadership experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and service support systems
  • Sound knowledge of current products and services and CAT dealer relationships
  • Strong knowledge of Warranty and Goodwill practices
  • Thorough understanding of the union and Finning's collective agreements
  • Understands and adheres to Finning policies and procedures, including safety best practices
