About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Networks, Perioperative and working closely with the Perioperative Senior Medical Director, the Clinical Project Consultant works in collaboration with the Perioperative Network, Zone Perioperative Leadership Teams and Project Manager(s) on strategic initiatives to facilitate implementation projects.

This position enables and supports the development of initiatives / projects that support excellence in care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, and achievement of standards of care and goals established by Nova Scotia Health and the Department of Health and Wellness.


The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise, leadership, consultation and coordination of planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Perioperative strategic initiatives and improvement projects that advance achievement of Nova Scotia Government and Perioperative Network mandates.


The Clinical Project Consultant has in-depth knowledge of Perioperative / Surgical services and serves as liaison between the Perioperative Network, project teams and Zone Perioperative leaders.

The Clinical Project Consultant facilitates staff involvement and provides ongoing support, mentorship and coaching during implementation. Ensures decisions are fiscally responsible and communicates progress and seeks input from co-leadership team as needed.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in healthcare discipline.
  • Master's degree an asset, particularly in health administration, leadership, masters of business administration.
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation an asset.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) / experience an asset
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' leadership experience within Perioperative Services
  • Experience in working with patient care leaders
  • Experience in leading strategic initiatives and/ or large scale improvement projects
  • Experience in project management, program development, and program evaluation
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units
  • High degree of independent decision making, creativity, selfdirection, motivation, change management and team building/ leadership skills

Hours:


  • Permanent, Full Time (100%) Position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Travel to other sites will be required.

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $50.19 Hourly
