- The Information Quality (IQ) analyst is responsible for providing support and assistance to all the department's data stewardship and quality initiatives. This includes assistance with analysis and synthesizing findings related to the quality of CIHI's data holdings, and supporting the development, implementation and improvement of corporate data governance and quality tools, reports and processes.
- The Analyst may also contribute to other activities such as data quality studies, metadata maintenance, quality reporting, developing technical documents, knowledge exchange, process improvement initiatives, project planning and literature searches.
- What you'll do
- 1.
including reporting standards, data processes and methods, data quality and related analytical/information products.
- 2. Develops and maintains knowledge of CIHI's Health Data and Information Governance Capability Framework, Information Quality Framework, Health Data and Analytics Ethics Framework, and the tools and activities that they encompass; and supports their enhancement and implementation across the organization.
- 3. Assists with the execution of operational activities, such as updating, testing and verifying code; preparing reports; managing metadata; maintaining SharePoint and web information; and basic project planning.
- 4. Assists in the identification, investigation and documentation of quality issues; synthesizing results and presenting findings; and the development of plans to improve data/information quality. Also assists in the preparation of technical notes and process documentation
- 5. Conducts basic analyses to evaluate the quality of CIHI's data holdings. Responsible for quality assurance of analyses, including factchecking and data validation.
- 6. Participates in other department or corporate projects as required and assumes responsibility for other related duties as assigned.
- 7. Respects privacy and confidentiality of information by following policies in Privacy and Confidentiality of Health Information at CIHI and related procedures and directives.
- What you'll bring to the table
- Data quality analysis and reporting on CIHI's data sets
- Programming in Python and/or R
- Using Excel to manipulate and present data
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problemsolving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare, interpret and effectively present key analytical findings for different audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work as part of a team with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of CIHI's databases is an asset.
- Knowledge of data quality concepts, tools, methodologies and practices is an asset.
- Knowledge of SharePoint is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian health care systems is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
