What you'll be doing


The purpose of the role is to provide independent overall coordination of the various CIBC Functional Groups financial planning and forecasting processes.

The role interacts directly with the Functional Group CFO team and their directs to prepare deliverables to be presented to senior management and the Board of Directors.

As the lead Finance representative the Director will provide information and analysis, make recommendations and suggest consequences of proposed actions for executive management consideration.


The Director is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and informative delivery of "forward looking" information to assist in Infrastructure senior leader decision support.

This includes preparation of Functional Groups Annual Financial Plan, 3-year Financial Plan and Quarterly Financial Targets (Forecasts) and Latest Estimates (Outlook).

The scope includes responsibility for coordinating financial planning, forecasts and latest estimates as well as any ad hoc requests that are needed to enhance decision-making.


This position and group completes planning and forecasting policies and processes for the LOB while also acting as the central consolidator of this information.

In addition, this position is the primary point of contact for quarterly external reporting responsibilities directly relating to Corporate & Other SBU results.

How you'll succeed- Planning and forecasting - Coordinate the preparation of the consolidated annual one and three-year financial Plans and quarterly financial Targets for the LOB Heads of various Infrastructure Groups and the Functional Groups CFO.

In addition, provide corporate level planning and forecasting oversight and direction as required.

Ensure that Functional Groups business requirements related to the tools and processes associated with planning and forecasting are addressed and functioning.- Relationship management - Act as a proactive strategic resource, supporting the Functional Groups CFO by identifying, planning and implementing system enhancements and other planning and forecasting reporting improvement strategies and projects with senior leadership.

Work closely with the SBU Finance Planning leaders and key infrastructure support staff including Taxation, Shared Services, Risk Management, Corporate Development and Human Resources to ensure financial planning and forecasting standards and procedures meet business requirements.

Coordinate the LE process and develop relationships with various stakeholders.- Systems and tools - Ensure systems and tools are in place and functioning to provide consolidated planning and forecasting reporting data in a meaningful form for senior management review and decision, including the EXCO and Board of Directors.- Ad hoc projects - Lead ad hoc projects and analysis as required, to be presented in a well-organized, professional manner to Central Finance and leadership across Finance.

Who you are You have a degree/diploma in Business, Accounting or Finance and/or relevant years of experience. It is an asset if you have a professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA - CA, CMA, CGA) or working towards a post graduate business degree.- You give meaning to data.
