Experience:

• Dental Assistant diploma and HARP certification in Ontario is REQUIRED

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the DDS and Hygienist to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including pediatric, periodontic, oral surgery, prosthodontic, endodontic and orthodontic dentistry.
• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment as well as conducting spore/biological indicator tests
• Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Taking and developing dental radiographs
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study models
• Level 2 DA'
• Mechanical polishing of the coronal portion of teeth
• Level 2 DA
• Pit and fissure sealants
• Level 2 DA
• Placement and removal of rubber dams
• Level 2 DA
• Dietary counseling relative to dentistry
• Providing oral hygiene instruction
• Recording data on patients' record or chart as directed by the DDS
• Monitor inventory of dental supplies
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
