Position Summary:


The Business Development Manager at Vicwest is responsible for driving growth in the Residential sector by managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.

They are tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with project influencers at all levels to promote and sell Vicwest's innovative building solutions.

Responsibilities include generating new business through developing project specifications and uncovering opportunities for short term wins.

The Business Development Manager will report into the Director of ICI Sales.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Develop and implement an annual business development plan that supports overall company objectives for growth in the sale of Steel Profiles and Insulated metal panels.
  • Exceed KPI goals for lead generation and specification growth.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM system to build a database of customer relationships, manage account activity, monitor project leads, track specification rates, and measure success to assigned goals.
  • Utilize bid search engine tool (CMD) to uncover project leads monitor specification rates.
  • Conduct regular, strategically planned promotional activities with current and targeted influencers that generate opportunities (leads).
  • Plan, prioritize and organize travel within the assigned territory to maximize results.
  • Plan and deliver AIA accredited presentations and track activity within the CRM system in accordance with assigned goals.
  • Lead in the use of digital technology to establish Vicwest's position as a leader in digital construction tools.
  • Lead in sustainability as a Planet Passionate Champion by actively participating the development of Vicwest Planet Passionate messaging, LCAs & EPDs, and associated promotional tools.
  • Assist marketing to define and develop promotional messaging that compares IMP favorably to competing materials.
  • Ensure excellence and professionalism in customer interactions.
  • Read construction blueprints, drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Prepare monthly reports as directed by the Director of Sales.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Marketing, Business or technical degree or background a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in promotion of commercial wall, roof or deck products.
  • Professional and polished presentation skills.
  • Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
