Position


As the Analyst you will Contribute to the overall success of the Settlements Investigations team in Toronto, Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Accountabilities

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of the applicant's respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Champion a client
- focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

  • Responsible for managing, addressing, and resolving daytoday discrepancies in a timely manner and/or within established deadlines
  • Solve problems of an unusual or complex nature including identifying the root cause and what is required to prevent recurrence. Ability to engage other areas or departments for further information or follow up and collaboratively work towards course of action or resolution.
  • Action and provide details on aged items and escalating those items as necessary to various levels of management accordingly
  • Act as internal control to mitigate risk including but not limited to the areas of operational, financial, or reputational risk
  • Identify and implement changes in operating procedures to increase efficiency and minimize inherent risk to the bank. Ensures SOP (standard operating procedures) are reviewed yearly, remain current and any changes are documented in detail accordingly.
  • Analyze cross departmental processes which may have created the exception and understand action required to resolve.
  • In the case of billing requirements ensure borrowing and lending billing and fail claims are reconciled and settled monthly against various counterparties in multiple currencies.
  • Champion a highperformance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategies, and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Participate in cross training initiatives where time permits across the Settlements Investigations team to be able to provide additional coverage during absences, vacations, or staff shortages

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with strong negotiation and strategic influencing skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Bank's products, policies and services.
  • Good understanding and awareness of strategic and tactical business planning and executional issues/processes.
  • Adaptability to operate in a rapidly changing environment regarding policies, procedures, automation, and client needs
  • Results focused to identify and action any issues/concerns/processes in a timely matter.
  • Exceptional analytical & problemsolving skills and sound judgment required to critically examine reconciliations, their operations & processes
