Description
Parkview Services for Seniors is comprised of three Ontario Non-Profit Corporations. Parkview Home is a 128-bed fully Accredited Long-Term Care Home. The Parkview Village Retirement Community Association of York Region is a 124-unit rental apartment building that provides independent living.

The Parkview Village Cluster Homes for Seniors Association of York Region was formed to provide an independent living environment under a life lease model.

We are seeking a Manager of Environmental Services to join our team
Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry and facility support services departments
  • Maintaining the building (includes equipment, furnishings and fixtures) in a clean and sanitary good state of repair.
  • Perform frequent audits to identify noncompliance to SOPs and opportunities for improvement. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to identified risks and prevent injury.
  • Ensure all accidents/incidents are reported, in a timely manner, to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure accidents/incidents are investigated and corrective action to prevent reoccurrence has been developed and implemented.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigations
  • Serve on the OH&S committee
  • Promote the overall safety program, Ensure all assigned branches are prepared for and successful in all audits, OHS visits and other site compliance inspections.
  • Ensure both managers and all employees are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under emergency policies
  • Oversee mock code drills
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to maintain operations with in annual budgets
  • Management of all attributes relating to departmental staff.

Qualifications:


  • A related educational background and experience in environmental services in a longterm care facility are preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidencebased practices related to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance.
  • Successfully Completed the Fire Safety Planning Training for Owners and Operators under Ontario Regulation 150/1
  • Knowledge of the requirements of The Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act, Standards and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes that influence the operation of the home, specifically those that affect the fire, general safety, and maintenance aspects of the operation.
  • Proven leadership and excellent communication and organizational skills are required
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID (based on Public Health guidelines two doses or more*)

Experience:


  • Leadership: 2 years (preferred)
  • Environmental services: 1 year (preferred)
