SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reporting to the Fleet Manager.

The Fleet Quality Coordinator & Data Analyst will be responsible for fleet continuous improvement initiatives, developing performance measurement, as well as quality management.

The coordinator will specialize in administrative, analytical, and technical work related to identification, evaluation, prioritization, and implementation of strategic initiatives.


This position provides support to Fleet Services in continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiencies such as: green fleet/new technologies, vehicle maintenance management scheduling, operational and business process reviews, provides support and direction in the development of standards and methodologies to improve processes and efficiencies.

Using a "best practices" approach, this position develops and delivers quality service in a timely and cost -effective manner. This position will work with the Manager to establish, monitor and report on departmental KPI's and metrics.


GENERAL DUTIES


Leads and supports the development, implementation, and management of a Fleet wide process improvement program by providing insight and guidance.

Lead and supports the development, implementation and ongoing updating of performance metrics for all Fleet Services operational support areas.


Lead and supports the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.

Use statistical analysis to identify performance trends and make recommendations for project opportunities/enhanced services.


Leads and supports specific projects and investigative assignments such as, green technology upgrades, process improvements, change management or implementation of policy/procedure requirements, cost-benefit analyses, benchmarking studies.


Performs analysis on various Fleet related data including but not limited to vehicle and equipment classification, utilization, maintenance activities, life cycle and green technology initiatives, vehicle recharging and fuel site infrastructure.

Uses statistical analysis to make recommendations for business opportunities, enhanced services, process improvements, Grant funding programs and implementation.

Interacts with consultants on Departmental projects overseeing the collection of data and analysis and reviewing/commenting

Coordinates internal and external data for Municipal Benchmarking such as MBN Canada or other corporate benchmarking.

Involved in business process reviews, improvement initiatives, provides strategic and process improvement advice to support business operations.

Makes recommendations for improvements to processes, including efficiency improvements, modification/elimination/development of tools, and the introduction and use of technology.


Recommends related monitoring KPI's through maintenance management system to determine strengths and needs of staff, to identify training needs and goal setting measures to reach optimal performance levels.

Includes oversight of development of performance indicator tools.

Synthesizes analytical outputs and materials to produce reports.

Creates and contributes to reports for internal and external use (e.g., Council reports, memorandums, website material/open data) to communicate performance, financial results, staffing levels and other related activities for the purpose of sharing with internal and/or external persons/groups.

Assist in developing project charters, scope, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and identify project risks. Update City's internal share point system with continuous improvement projects.

Responsible for project plan development and project resource planning along with the identification of project task. Identifies project resources and skill requirements and estimates project and sustainability costs while oversee
