Description

Purpose:

This position provides technical services in support of the academic mission of the School of Arts, Media, Performance & Design's Departments of Dance, Music, Theatre and occasionally the Departments of Design, Film and Visual Arts and Digital Media program.

In addition, the position will provide technical services to internal (other University departments) and external clients. Technical services revolve around the performance facilities including five main venues and ancillary spaces.

Education:

Three years Post Secondary Education in Music, Dance, Theatre or Video production or equivalent experience.

The equivalent experience is Grade 12 High School graduation plus three years of employment experience in music or stage production.

Experience:

Related Employment Experience: 6 months experience in music or stage production

Committed to providing superior service to customers. respond effectively to customer concerns and service issues as they arise. possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. able to communicate clearly and concisely. work independently and as a part of a team. demonstrate good judgment and willingness to take initiative. sensitive to student needs and interests. familiar with Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures. familiar with theatrical stage equipment and tools. ability to read stage and lighting diagrams and interpret them. ability to operate theatrical consoles including but not limited to sound, lighting and video.
