We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Manager to join our exciting organization As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Director of Development, analyzing new opportunities to grow the company.

This position is responsible for managing projects throughout the development lifecycle, picking up after acquisition, and working through public consultation, design, approvals, construction, and divestment.


Key Responsibilities
Research and Analysis

  • Building/unit types and trends
  • Evolution of product specification
Process Administration

  • Responsible for ensuring development permits are obtained on schedule
  • Responsible for ensuring building permits are obtained on schedule
  • Ensures all regulatory requirements, bonding, deposits etc. are met and tracked
  • Ensures drawings and specifications are complete for construction
Stakeholder and Customer Management

  • Oversees consultant and owner response to construction issues with plans and specifications
  • Resolves issues with plans and specifications that arise during construction on future projects
  • Prepare regular reporting of project status, suitable for presentation to primary stakeholders
Miscellaneous

  • Project workload and assignment changes as per business decisions
  • Helps prepare and manage project budgets
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • 23 years of experience in a Development Manager role
  • At least 2 years of combined and relevant experience and proven proficiency in most aspects of the planning, engineering, construction and approval process for wood frame, multifamily projects
  • A strong educational background in support of job experience and directly related to the requirements of the position
  • The ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with approving authorities, utility companies, consultants, architects, and contractors
  • Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills including the use of CAD software, Adobe, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Experience managing all aspects of development, including budget preparation, design development, municipal approvals, and construction review
  • Great communicator
  • Meets commitments
  • Effective negotiation, diplomatic and conflict resolutions skills
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally and collaborate across various departments and teams

Work Conditions

  • Travel to site and offsite locations will be required
  • Overtime as required
  • Hazards associated with the trade
  • Work both indoors and outdoors

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $115,000
