    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Conduct Nutritional Assessments: Perform nutritional assessments to children, adolescents, and adults within the context of evidence-based treatment for eating disorders.provide education and follow-up to individuals and/or families where clinically indicated.
  • Review patient eating diaries and provide feedback to therapists.
  • Attend Team Meetings: Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates on patients' progress, contribute insights, and collaborate on treatment strategies.
  • Liaise with community physicians and others as needed
  • Contribute to Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest developments in the field of nutrition and eating disorders, actively participating in professional and community educational events to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate on Treatment Planning: Work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary treatment team to identify priorities and set goals for individualized care plans, ensuring holistic and effective treatment approaches.
  • Co-facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducation groups covering general topics with regards to nutrition, effects of eating disorders, influencing factors in development of and treatment of eating disorders, weight bias and weight science.
  • Contribute to program rounds and consult meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports.
  • Contribute to program development and evaluation.
  • Demonstrate Strong Interpersonal Skills: Display a caring attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships and effective communication within the multidisciplinary team and the broader community.
  • Maintain Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by being a registered dietitian and a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Member of the Eating Disorder network preferred.
  • Member of Dietitians of Canada preferred.
  • Knowledge of disordered eating and its effects on nutrition, body composition and metabolic parameters
  • Knowledge of best practices in the treatment of eating disorders including CBT-E(D), FBT and DBT
  • Knowledge of Intuitive Eating Principles
  • Experience working with individuals with a mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Experience in facilitating therapeutic groups (DBT or CBT)
  • Skills and competencies to quickly establish supportive, trusting relationships with patients
  • Demonstrated communication skills in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of community and professional resources in Eating Disorders.
  • The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.
