Description
We are currently looking for a full-time Performance Specialist at our Mississauga location. This is a contract position, valid for 1 year.


Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and Labour Relations, the Performance Specialist is responsible for oversight on all screening positions, procedures and officer conduct as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), GardaWorld internal policies and client expectations.

This role requires a thorough understanding of all internal and external policies to ensure daily adherence. In addition, this role manages all internally documented incidents of SOP and procedural non-compliances.

The role is critical in ensuring excellence in daily operations and meeting corporate standards while ensuring safety of travelling public.


TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Conduct oversight of screening personnel at all checkpoints to ensure compliance in procedures as outlines in GardaWorld internal policies, Business Management System, CATSA SOP etc.
  • Investigate and address all client or internally documented performance events
  • Conduct internal investigations including but not limited to breach, infiltration tests, security events, training events, and/or professional conduct events
  • Execute MOER Investigations, discipline events and performance improvement events
  • Assist in managing absenteeism, loss control and disability activities
  • Issue discipline including verbal warning, suspensions, as per internal and Collective Agreement processes in a timely manner while maintaining records and documents
  • Provide recommendations to Human Resources department as required for work performance related disciplinary actions
  • Participate in GardaWorld internal employee recognition programs
  • Assist in Labor Relations and Grievance Resolution meetings and tasks
  • Promote open, timely and frequent communication with all team members
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and be a selfstarter
  • Demonstrate understanding of employment related legislation such as Canada Labour Code and Occupational Health and Safety Ac Have a clean criminal record & eligible to obtain a RAIC (security clearance)
