Position Description:


Here's What You'll Get To Do:

  • Liaise with clients for the design, planning and management of their sequencing projects.
  • Determine cost effective ways to reach scientific goals of projects.
  • Ensure projects comply with ethical and legal requirements and interface with Research Ethics Board (REB) and Legal Services as required.
  • Work closely with the laboratory staff to ensure proper project execution and completion.
  • Liaise with TCAG Informatics facility regarding data analysis and delivery.
  • Review billing reports to ensure consistency with billing requirements
  • Evaluate new sequencing technologies/protocols for inclusion in TCAG's service offerings.

Here's What You'll Need:


  • PhD in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, or other related biological discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience in the operation of Illumina sequencers is required; other sequencing platforms will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a core facility or similar service lab, as well as experience in a highthroughput genomics environment (genome centre).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet critical deadlines is essential.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently and have a cooperative and serviceoriented attitude.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to rigorously document progress.

Employment Type:
Temporary, Full-Time (one year contract)
