Description

The Receptionist/Novelty Shop Assistant plays a critical role in the Concord Head Office and it the first point of contact with our customers and guests while maintaining support of our sales and management teams.


  • Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviours at all times in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Provide efficient, courteous and professional distribution of calls
  • Greet and direct customers and visitors to the appropriate business unit/individual
  • Process the incoming and outgoing mail including distribution
  • Post messages on Welcome Board and Conference Room as required
  • Manage the retail and novelty store operations, i.e. customer sales, stock transfers, stocking shelves, inventory and ensure cash sales are remitted promptly to the Accounting Department
  • Coordinate board room bookings, maintain the coffee bar and order supplies
  • Provide efficient, courteous and professional distribution of calls
  • Greet and direct customers and visitors to the appropriate business unit/individual
  • Process the incoming and outgoing mail including distribution
  • Arrange for couriers, maintain a record and hand cheques to Accounts Payable

Job Qualifications:


  • Post Secondary Education and/or equivalent experience in a busy retail/warehouse environment
  • Minimum 2 years administrative support, customer service and reception experience
  • Safety conscious, results driven and passion for consistently delivering exceptional customer service
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a friendly and polished telephone manner
  • Proven initiative, problem solving, attention to detail and a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to multiple tasks and deliver accuracy in a timely manner
  • Adaptable to constant change in a fast paced environment
  • A selfmotivated team player with a relationship building capacity and experience in diverse cross functional groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of business needs
