This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role:

  • Work closely with ONA's Digital Communications Specialist to assist in migrating content for ONA Local websites to newly designed WordPress websites.
  • Assist in setting up meetings with ONA Local website leads and developing new content where appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing content and liaising with the external graphic designer to prepare the 2025 ONA pocket calendar.
  • Assist Labour Relations Assistants in organizing shared team storage space.
  • Assist in copy editing and formatting ONA documents using new branded templates.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Undertaking university degree in the field of communications, journalism, or public relations.
  • Work or volunteer experience in a related field, particularly:
  • Professional writing and editing.
  • Website content development and/or management, especially Wordpress.
  • Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:
  • Graphic design.
  • Developing digital or print products such as newsletters, documents, etc.
  • Copy editing and formatting for documents.
  • Knowledge of the union, health care, or political environment.
  • Other important qualities:
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Adaptable, works well independently and with others.
  • Collaborative partner, interpersonal communication, and strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
