Position Overview
The
People Processes and Solutions team within
Human Resources is currently seeking a Regular Full-time
Peoplesoft Functional Analyst.


The Senior Peoplesoft HCM Functional Analyst position offers exciting opportunities for a wide variety of work in the HCM system, including chances to learn new functionality through projects, solutioning and sustainment.


The Senior Functional Analyst works closely with both representatives from the business areas and IT PS development to ensure complete solutions for the end users.

A concerted effort towards automation and streamlining processes at UofC offers the team many opportunities to provide difference-making solutions to business needs.


Work arises from requests for enhancements or new functionality, including the business plan and objectives of the organization and HR departments, as well as observed issues/problems with the current system.

Work also arises through planned maintenance, configuration and upgrades which are required to resolve issues or maintain currency of the system.


Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Design approved solutions in collaboration with IT Application Developers, have primary responsibility for system configuration and reconfiguration for one or more modules, and test thoroughly, using scenarios, scripts and data to validate the development/configuration against the design specifications
  • Implement tested solutions into production using appropriate change control procedures
  • Participate in crossfunctional troubleshooting, analysis and testing with other PeopleSoft functions and IT units (e.g. Finance, Student, Enterprise Reporting)
  • Communicate changes and enhancements to end users and training developers to improve consistency of usage across units and departments
  • Clarify and fully resolve user issues in a timely manner, coordinating solutions with other support units and external departments as required to ensure continued business operation.

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree required; a combination of experience, training and education may be considered
  • Minimum of five years of experience in functional analysis and design in one or more PeopleSoft HCM modules, including experience with configurable tables and custom processes
  • Advanced level knowledge of PeopleSoft processes and best practice as well as current business process best practice
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and interact respectfully and persuasively with a variety of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to provide effective advice, information and assistance to a wide range of customers
  • Ability to follow rigorous project management practice and methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of a variety of software including SQL Developer, PS Query, and MS Excel
