Description

The Operations Analyst is responsible for coordinating the supply chain of incoming recyclable materials to Emterra's and third-party Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) from internal and external suppliers.

This position will assist the organization track the chain of custody of materials throughout the value chain through data analysis, vendor management, and problem solving.

Accordingly, this individual will be responsible for the data integrity of material movements in Material Manager and QuickBase.

This role requires a blend of analytics, logistics, vendor management, and environmental expertise, making it a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about sustainability and committed to driving positive change.


What will you do?

  • Monitor the inbound and outbound flows of material for various extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs in Ontario.
  • Ensure daily vendor reporting and daily validation of data reported by vendors to ensure chain of custody tracking. When errors or issues in inbound tickets arise, work with vendors to investigate and correct tickets.
  • Ensure the entry and upload of inbound tickets at Emterra's and third party MRFs into Material Manager or QuickBase are accurate and timely. When errors or issues arise, work with staff in different departments and locations and vendors to investigate and correct tickets.
  • Coordinate with customers [AA1] for purchases and pickup or delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies for the pickup of recyclable materials from suppliers in Ontario.
  • Liaise with MRFs on receiving schedules and receiving capacity for trailer load shipments in Ontario.
  • Liaise with MRFs on receiving schedules and receiving capacity.
  • Upload Material Manager tickets to QuickBase daily and resolve ticket issues when errors arise by performing investigations and corrections as necessary.
  • Monitor batch approval confirmations of Material Manager ticket uploads.
  • Train scale office and administrative staff on Material Manager and QuickBase procedures.
  • Maintain uptodate and accurate SOP documentation.
  • Liaise with MRFs to manage inventory massbalances.
  • Together with management, allocate outbound shipment volumes appropriately to various customers (PRO and nonPRO).
  • Prepare statistical data and reports to the management team.
  • Provide advanced administrative support to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes.
  • Resolve issues/disputes that may arise between customers, trucking companies, Emterra Group Materials Marketing department and Emterra and third party MRFs.
  • Other related duties as assigned by management.

What will you bring?

  • Grade 12 or GED equivalency; job related postsecondary education considered an asset;
  • Previous experience working in a related administrative or analytical role an asset.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in interpreting and reporting results of analysis.
  • Demonstrate accountability and dependability.
  • Experience in the waste management and recycling industry an asset.
  • A friendly personality combined with a "rollup your sleeves and get it done attitude"
