Description

As a construction supervisor you will supervise a construction crew. You will be responsible for the construction, repair and or restoration of a house. You will schedule work for the crew and ensure that you have the appropriate manpower for the job. You will also need to estimate completion time based on the number of workers you bring on site.

You will be expected to have construction experience and assist the crew wherever help is needed, including carrying out hard labor.

The abilities to work in extreme temperatures, to work with hand and power tools, to stand and walk for a long period of time, and to lift heavy objects are essential.

Most of the work is based on customer availability, so there will be breaks in between projects.

The work of several crew members will be overseen, so it is important to make sure that they are doing the job in the correct manner.

Behavior not beneficial to the goals of the project should be corrected immediately.

Duties such as employee evaluations, hiring and firing, and administering payroll will be recommended by the supervisor and reviewed by the owners.

As a supervisor you will often have to work within a budget and will need to make sure to keep costs low, though this should not interfere with the quality of work or materials used.

You will review every project prior to starting and prepare a gameplan in advance.
