QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certification in Health Information Management
  • Minimum of five to seven years coding experience in an acute care hospital environment
  • Must be a current member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD10CA/CCI, MOH coding standards, directives and funding methodologies
Exceptional organizational, analytical and computer skills including working knowledge of Crystal report writing

  • Displays superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with many diverse groups including Decision Support, Clinicians, Information Systems and HIM coding staff.
  • Demonstrates effective customer service, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Meditech, and internet navigation.
  • Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Consistent and regular attendance.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
