Description

The Company

Climate change is the defining challenge of our time, and the team at Invert is building innovative tools that empower individuals and businesses alike to tackle the problem head on.

We are a team of experienced start-up scalers that have taken ideas from a whiteboard to the New York Stock Exchange, all while maintaining a focus on a rewarding, award-winning team culture.

At this early stage of Invert's growth, we're looking for talented people who are passionate about making a difference through their work.

Our company does two key things.

First, we invest in projects that result in carbon credits being created, such as planting a forest or building a machine that sucks CO2 from the air.

By selling these credits on to individuals or businesses, we are able to generate revenue that lets us make more investments in projects that reduce or remove CO2, and we continue the cycle

Second, we are creating a place (more specifically, an app) where individuals can go to learn about what they can do themselves to address this giant problem of climate change.

We want to help individuals understand their own impact on the world, and give them a chance to support carbon offset projects.

We want every individual to be carbon neutral, and we want them to get there in an engaging manner with rich content and community.

Place of Work
We work virtually from London to Toronto to Melbourne, with a physical home base office in Ottawa, Canada. Our team meetings are held within EST working hours.

Our Fit
We're strong believers that diversity, equity and inclusion are a key strength and integral to our future success.

We want colleagues that can think differently, bring a range of experiences, are creative within their role, and know how to drive towards a team goal.

We value both experience and expertise but emphasize capitalizing on the future potential of remarkable people.

We're looking for colleagues who want to take action on climate change and drive our society towards net zero emissions by 2050.

We believe in working hard and in being flexible in how we get things done. We believe that working with good and kind people is as important as working with smart people.

Our compensation model embodies rewards for performance and we believe everyone in the company should share in the upside of our success.

In order to ensure this, we offer equity participation in addition to salary.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Carbon Acquisition, you will lead:

  • Organize, track, and monitor inter-connected carbon projects while coordinating cross-project activities to spur action to ensure an effective flow of information and resources between stakeholders
  • Develop and control work plans and deadlines, budgets and activities, operational logistic support, scheduling meetings, procurement, and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain programmatic systems for tracking project relationships, budgets, project progress, and progression toward goals.
  • Continually update projects as information is received to ensure alignment across the carbon program
  • Assess program performance to maximize ROI
  • Represent the Invert externally across partnerships and stakeholders
  • Provide advice on program management, identify trends and corrective actions to resolve problems, and ensure future efficiencies. Help identify tools, resources, and training that will facilitate program success.

The experience we're looking for

  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus with 5 or more years of project or program management experience.
  • Proven experience in developing work plans and budgets
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and identify solutions.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Team player and able to work effectively with diverse groups in a multicultural environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, and deliver quality results.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities and under general supervision.
  • Project manager certification or equivalent would be an asset (PMP) with experience using PM software
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
